Obituary of Shirley Kaye Burton

LUGOFF-Shirley Kaye Burton, 78, passed away February 4, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born January 26, 1944, to Billie Ray and Barbara Lee Little Jackson, in Winston-Salem, NC. She spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. Mrs. Shirley was an Elvis enthusiast, loved music, shagging and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.  

                Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Noel Green Burton Sr.; daughters, Shirley Joe Martin, Darla Melinda Covin, Wendy Virginia Benton (Bruce); sons, Ricky Lee Howard, Noel Green Burton Jr. (Sandra), and Dale Wayne Burton; sisters, Darlene Ledford, Edna Rebecca Rowe (Ed), and Bonnie Lee Jackson; brother, James Andrew Jackson; grandchildren, Madison Kaylee Benton, Haylee Nicole Benton, Alicia Marie Martin, Robert Anthony Martin, Jessica Anne Covin, Samuel Clark, Casey Howard, Brandon Burton, Hailey Burton, Brittany Burton, and Jordan Burton; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her parents Billie Ray and Barbara Lee Little Jackson; and brother, Billie Ray Jackson.

    A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Greg Sweet will officiate.
