Obituary of Herbie Boykin, Jr.

Claude Herbert ‘Herbie’ Boykin, Jr., 48, of Terre Haute, IN, and formerly of Camden, SC, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Born in Camden, he was the son of Claude Herbert Boykin Sr. and Sarah Charlene Hammond Boykin. Herbie was an avid Clemson Tiger and Carolina Panthers fan. He enjoyed listening to rock music, especially the band Metallica, and loved to cook and play bass guitar. He was always outgoing and never met a stranger. Above all, Herbie loved his kids and all his family.

In addition to his father, Claude Herbert Boykin, Sr.; and step-mother, Debra Boykin; Herbie is survived by his children, Sarah Boykin, Darren Boykin, Zackary Boykin, Hailey Boykin, and Camden Boykin; step-daughters, Karma Steadman and Kayla Russell; siblings, Robert Boykin, Nikki Vuolo, and Tiffany Deas; and grandchildren, Kaden Woodrow, Gunnar Blythe, Nicholas Williams, Heidynn Deneca, Breylyne Hope, Skylin Fish, Ola Delgado-Stolk, Landen Steadman, Sophie Steadman, and Colten Steadman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00PM on Friday, February 11, 2022. Burial will be held in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
