Obituary of Deneen Sellers

Cara “Deneen” Davis Sellers, 57, of Elgin, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Charles Dean and Pallie Rose Davis, and the wife of John William Sellers. Deneen was an active member of Spears Creek Baptist Church, where she enjoyed volunteering her time in the Nursery. Deneen enjoyed traveling, having spent most of her childhood in Germany and all over the United States following her father’s military career. She loved the snow, doing crossword puzzles and hidden search games, and shopping. Above all, Deneen was always involved in the lives of her two boys. She never missed a field trip or any of their sports and activities. She was loving wife and mother who will be deeply missed.

In addition to her husband, Deneen is survived by her sons, William A. Sellers (Fiancée, Kadee) and Matthew D. Sellers; her sister-in-law, Pam Cashatt (Clifford);  nephews, Jason (Dawn) Cashatt and Jamie (Tiffany) Cashatt; and great-nephews, Luke and Ranier Cashatt.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Powers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Blaney Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Greg Sweet. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
