Obituary of Geraldine Jones

ELGIN – A service to celebrate the life of Geraldine Ann Martin Jones, 72, will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Midway Independent Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Journey Church Building Fund.

    Ms. Jones passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 surrounded by her family.  Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Grover Judson and Ernestine Eugenia Brazell Martin.  She retired from Colonial Life Insurance and was a member of Midway Independent Methodist Church.  She enjoyed reading and playing Bingo.

    Surviving are her daughter, Deanna Michelle Hare (Erik); sister, Avis Brazell (Larry); brother, Tony Martin; grandchildren, Joshua Huffstetler (Melissa), Shaina Brazell (Billy), Erika Robertson (Garrett), Amanda Kelly (J.C.), Michael Hare (Anna Leigh) and Sandy Hare (Kyle); and great-grandchildren, Landon Robertson, Kaedynn Robertson, Shane Robertson, McKenzie Hare, Kylie Huffstetler, Luke Huffstetler, Lilly Huffstetler, Grayson Jacobs and Terrann Melton.  She was predeceased by brothers, Phillip Martin and Richard Martin; and sister, Brenda Epting.
