Obituary of Alvin James Player

A Funeral Service for Alvin J. Player, 81, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with burial to follow at Antioch Baptist Church, Camden. The Rev. Danny Hedgepath will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Coletta School, N4637 County Road Y, Jefferson, WI  53549.

            Mr. Player passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021. Born in Clio, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Tillman W. and Mary Kate Giddens Player. He retired from Dupont after 18.5 faithful years. He attended Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. Player was a family man who enjoyed doing puzzles, tending to his garden and was a sports enthusiast.

            Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Bell Player; son, Lance Player (Katrina); sister, Carliss P. Carter (Graham); nephews, Brian Carter and Todd Carter; nieces, Melissa Bell Bryne and Laura Bell; brother-in-law, Dr. Carol Bell; as well as many of his friends and Antioch Baptist Church Family.

            He was predeceased by parents Tillman W. and Mary Kate Giddens; and brother, T.J. Player.
