Obituary of Anne Colleen Sonsmith Quigley

Anne Colleen Sonsmith Quigley, 79, of Lugoff, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Born in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late Henry A. and Audrey Browne Sonsmith, and the wife of Richard Michael Quigley. Anne attended Marygrove College in Detroit, where she received a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology. Anne was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Camden, SC since 1978. She served as a Sunday School and RCIA teacher, sang in the church choir, and served on multiple committees within the church. She loved to help others, often volunteering with CCM, Food For The Soul, and Second Look Resale Store. Anne was a certified Master Naturalist who loved nature, animals, gardening, and flowers. She enjoyed baking, entertaining, and traveling, especially to the mountains. Anne enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends and will be forever remembered by the bright and kind smile that she always wore.

In addition to her husband, Anne is survived by her children, Sean Patrick Quigley (Ellen) of Kansas City, MO, Amy Quigley Hane (Billy) of North Augusta, SC, and Andrew Richard Quigley (Tami) of Maggie Valley, NC; grandchildren, Garrett Quigley, Adam Hane, Bridget Quigley, Daniel Hane, Sebastian Quigley, Ryan Quigley, Kevin Quigley, Ava Quigley, and Brendan Quigley; a great-grandchild, James Theodore Quigley; as well as her sister, Mary Brower (Greg); of Fenton, MI.

In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Julia Katherine Hane; and brothers, Henry A. Sonsmith, Jr., and Dave Sonsmith.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Camden, officiated by Father John Zimmerman. A Rosary will be prayed for Mrs. Quigley at 4:00pm on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, followed by a visitation from 4:30-6:30pm. Inurnment will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at a later date.
