Obituary of Charles Dean Davis

Charles Dean Davis, 84, of Elgin, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Born in Glenola, NC, he was the son of the late Dan and Beulah M. Davis and the husband of the late Pallie Rose Davis. Charles was a member of Spears Creek Baptist Church. He was a Retired US Army Veteran, having served 27 years, including during the Vietnam War. During his military career, Charles held the position of Motorpool SGT for Fort Jackson, and served on a Tank Retrieval Unit. He loved to fish, was a skilled mechanic, and always liked helping others. He will be deeply missed by those that had the pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his daughter, Cara Deneen Sellers (John) of Elgin; grandchildren, William Sellers (Kadee) and Matthew Sellers; and his sister-in-law, Joan Cook.

In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was preceded in death by his siblings, Joan and Jerry.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Blaney Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Greg Sweet. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
