Obituary of Lillie Stradford

ELGIN – A funeral service for Lillie Stradford, 61, will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in Cedar Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.

    Mrs. Stradford, wife of the late Simon Stradford, Sr., passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021.  Born on October 13, 1960, in Camden, she was a daughter of the late George Council and Nancy Oliver Council. She enjoyed sewing and working with horses, and loved her church, kids, and taking selfies.

   Surviving are her children, Elizabeth Stradford, Simon Stradford, Jr., and John Stradford; grandchildren, Quiana Halley, Autumn Johnson, Zora Stradford, Hezikiah Mobley, and Zechariah Fowler; siblings, Stella Robinson (Bubba), Joe Mack (Priscilla), Julia Riley, George Council, Jr. (Mary), and Bessie Stokes (Herbert). She was predeceased by her sister, Susan Fowler and brother, Tyrone Council.
