LUGOFF – Funeral Services for Lester Loran Gladden, 63, will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Wayne Flowers will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to KershawHealth EMS or the Lugoff Fire Department. Mr. Gladden passed away Friday, January 31, 2014. Born in Lee County, he was a son of George Heyward and Ella Mae Huggins Gladden. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and gardening, especially growing some of the best tomatoes around. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Judy Cox Gladden; son, Jason Gladden (Theresa) of Lugoff; daughters, Lori Alvarez (Saul) of Lugoff, Leslie Gladden of West Columbia; 4 grandchildren; and 2 sisters. He was predeceased by a brother.
