Obituary of Lewis O'Quinn, Jr.

LUGOFF – Funeral service for Joseph Lewis O’Quinn, Jr., 80, will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.  The Rev. David Robinson will officiate.  The family will receive friends Tuesday 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

    Mr. O’Quinn passed away at Lexington Medical Center on Sunday, October 24, 2021.  Born in Blaney, he was the son of the late Joseph Lewis O’Quinn and Sallie Kirkland O’Quinn.  He retired from DuPont and was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed working in his yard, fishing, bird hunting and in his younger days playing softball.

    Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Joyce Elaine Blackwell O’Quinn; sons, Joey O’Quinn (Lea Ann) of Ridgeway and Todd O’Quinn (Tricia) of Simpsonville; sisters, Kay Flora (H.B.) and Patti Soles (Clyde); grandchildren, Nikki Phan (Michael), Blake O’Quinn and Preston O’Quinn; and great-grandchildren, Caleb Phan and Emma Phan.  He was predeceased by a sister, Anne Wood.
