Obituary of Anthony Rufus Watts

Anthony Rufus “Amp” Watts, 50, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021. Born in Richland County, he was the son of Earnest Rufus Watts and the late Ann Barfield Watts. Anthony was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, spend time on the lake, camp, and ride four-wheelers. He loved spending time with his family, especially his daughter and grandchildren, as well as with his dog, Duke. Anthony was always generous and helpful, and was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, and son. 

 

In addition to his father, Anthony is survived by his daughter, Brittany Haley Watts; grandchildren, Madison Jordan, Gabriel Jordan, Callie O’Quinn, and another little girl on the way; brother, Tony Hoover; his longtime friend and mother of Brittany, Tammy Houser; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Wendy Melissa Watts.

 

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Bishopville, officiated by Rev. Joe Stines.
