LUGOFF – A memorial service for Allen Eugene “Al” Frakes, 56, formerly of Myrtle Beach, will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Blake Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 647 Lachicotte Road, Lugoff, S.C. 29078. Mr. Frakes passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014. Born in Fort Bragg, N.C., he was the son of SGM Marvin Eugene Frakes, U.S. Army (Ret’d) and Evelyn Daniels Frakes. He was a 1976 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School. He worked in management for hotels and restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area for many years. He enjoyed living at the beach and was man that loved and enjoyed being with his friends. Surviving are his father and mother, Marvin and Evelyn Frakes of Lugoff; brother, Gary Cyrus Frakes of Columbia; and paternal grandmother, Lucille Frakes of Knoxville, Ill.
