Obituary of Deborah Napper

CAMDEN – A service to celebrate the life of Deborah Sue Graham Napper, 68, will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the ALPHA Behavioral Health Center.

Mrs. Napper passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 19, 2021. Born in Williamston, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Beaufort and Betty Sue Rhodes Graham. She was a coordinator for the ALPHA Behavioral Health Center in Camden. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and talking on the phone with friends, but her most loved and cherished moments were being with her family, especially her grandchildren, and working side by side with her devoted husband to make the world a better place. Only Heaven will reveal the impact she had on the lives of those she encountered, often times at their most vulnerable life moments.

Deborah also spent many hours in her garden. In fact, she knew what each plant, tree, and flower needed to not only stay alive, but flourish. She tended, cultivated, and pruned her garden in a goal to make it more beautiful. Much like her garden, Deborah had the spiritual gift of taking special care of each one of us. She tended to difficulties with gentleness, cultivated relationships with gladness, and pruned attitudes with care. She gave straightforward advice (whether we liked it or not) and watched us blossom into better people- more like Christ. She nurtured our souls with her kind heart, warm smile, and Christian wisdom. She had a passionate and proactive lifestyle that many admired. We were all blessed by her selfless attitude. Deborah lived her life as a testament to the mighty Savior and Lord she served. She stood for Jesus and praised His name in the good and bad times. As just a small example that does not begin to demonstrate how much she put her faith in Him, she is the person behind the acronym for the ALPHA Center: All Life’s Problems Have Answers. The most prolific answer to these problems is, in her words, “In God’s time.”

Surviving are her husband, Paul William Napper; children, Melinda Napper Miller of Camden, Paul William Napper of Camden, Brian William Napper of Elgin and Christopher Scott Napper of Cassatt; brothers, David Lawrence Graham (Sue) of Lugoff and Stephen Beaufort Graham (Diane) of Bethune; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
