Obituary of Malcolm Scott McPherson
LUGOFF – Malcolm Scott McPherson, 49, passed on to be with the Lord on January 22, 2014, after a long illness.
Born in Camden, he was the son of Margaret Kirkland McPherson Colvin and the late William Malcolm McPherson. He enjoyed fishing, road trips, making beautiful music on his guitar and playing with his grandkids.
Surviving are his mother and step-father, Margaret and Robert Wayne Colvin; his wife of 27 years, Mary “Crickett” McPherson; step-son, John G. Creel (Alysia); step-daughters, Amanda R. Creel (Cody), and Charlotte I. Hernandez (Roberto) of Lugoff; brothers, Mike McPherson (Peggy) of Westville; Ricky McPherson of Lugoff; sister, Terrie Allred (Bobby) of Elizabethtown, N.C.; 9 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother and best friend, Randy McPherson.
Special thanks and love to Southern Care Hospice and Tabby Peake for your special care and comfort you gave to Scott his last days in this life.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at Sawney’s Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Old Sawneys Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Dean Reynolds, the Rev. Cotton Pate, and the Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.
