Billy enjoyed freshwater and deep sea fishing, and recreational boating.  He took pleasure in taking animal pictures in the wild, and had been a supporter of the Riverbank Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina.  Some of his fond memories of him and his wife's life were of their Hawaii travels, which was a subject where he always had adventurous stories to tell about their experiences. He was also a history buff, and he had great satisfaction in conversations relating to his interest, and his hobbies.  Billy enjoyed playing saxophone, and he enjoyed listening to saxophone music.  Billy was known for his diversity of engaging in almost any subject knowledgeably, and also for his easy going, likeable personality.
