Obituary of Diane Thompson Smith

Diane Thompson Smith, 74, departed this life August 5, 2021.  Born in Camden, SC she was the daughter of the late Johnnie Albert and Lucille Pennington Thompson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Gene Thompson; and sister, Delphia Loretta “Debbie” Dixon.  She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles Michael “Mike” Smith; four children, Delphia Michelle Flowers (Eddie), Angela “Angie” Dennis (Bruce), Johnnie Smith (Nyah Patel), and Bobby Smith (James Hardin); three grandchildren, Michael Flowers, Ashley and Brandon Dennis; and her brother, Randy Thompson (Vicky). 

A private service was held at Grace Episcopal Church, Camden, with interment at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at a future date.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.  The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to the caregivers at KershawHealth Home Health & Hospice.
