Obituary of Janice Dale Mattox

Janice Dale Davis Mattox, 72, of Lugoff, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2021. Born in Camden, SC on October 2, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Tillman and Lula Bell Branham Davis, and the wife of the late Johnny E. Mattox, Sr. Janice loved cooking, crocheting, sewing, and fishing. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Teresa Branham, Johnny Mattox, Jr., Rhonda Ritch (Waylon), Vickie Hailey, and Natalie Mattox; grandchildren, Stephanie Cooper (Travis), Heather Leo (Chuck), Lindsay Branham, Belton Stockman (Stephanie), Haven Mattox, Meagan Ritch, Lauren Ritch, Waylon Ritch, Jr., Mitch Hailey (Taylor), and Michael Hailey; great-grandchildren, C.J., Aria, Blake, Noah, Colin, Kaydence, Quavion, Kash, Laykin, and Harper; great-great-grandson, Bentley; and siblings, Boyd Del Ray and Carroll Ray.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Anthony Ray, Darroll Ray, Benny Davis, Betty Ray, Vivian Hinson, Esther Ray, Flossie Hicks, and Mary Morris.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Hardshell Cemetery.
