Obituary of Ronald Cary

ELGIN-A celebration of life service for Ronald Leroy Cary, 61, will be held Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Dean Reynolds will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist with medical bills.

    Mr. Cary passed away Friday, June 18, 2021. Born in Neu-Ulm, Germany, he was a son of the late Matthew Cary and Edith Haussler Fortune. Mr. Cary was a member of Sawney’s Creek Baptist Church. He was also a member of the NRA and enjoyed shooting, fishing, hunting, rebuilding cars, and spending time with family.

    Surviving are his wife, Michielle Ann Cary; daughter, Savannah Marlene Cary of Elgin; son, Spencer Mason Cary of Elgin; son of the heart, Zachary O’Cain; siblings, Rosalinde Sosa, Susanne Knight (Luther), David Cary (Pam), Kathryn Moyer; brothers-in-law, Gary Follis, Mark Hunley (Kim), David Hunley (Sonya); cousin, but sister of the heart, Andrea Clair; and a grandcat, Luna Storm. He was predeceased by a sister, Maria Follis.
