Obituary of Cassandra Furman

Cassandra Furman, 56, of Cassatt, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at KershawHealth. Born in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Raleigh and Mary Lee Furman. She graduated form Norman Thomas High School. Cassandra worked as a Senior Word Processing Operator for Lord and Taylor in New York, before coming to South Carolina in 1996. She retired in 2003 from the SC Vocational Rehabilitation DDS as an Office Support Specialist. She was also a member of Door of Hope Ministries in Camden, SC.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Tracy Alford; her sister, Renea Daye (Terry); brothers, Raleigh Furman, Jr. and Erick Furman; her goddaughter, Jazzmin Stevens; aunts, Lillie Johnson of Cassatt, Catherine Simon (Johnny) of Camden, Sally Lee of Camden, Rebecca Cauthen (James) of Camden, Delorise Lee of Tennessee, Sara Lee of Lugoff, and Shirley Lee Williams (Richard) of Lugoff; her uncle, Bennie Lee of Cassatt; as well as 3 nephews, 2 great-nephews, 2 nieces, and 2 great-nieces.

A public viewing will be held from 9-5pm on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.

The funeral service for Ms. Furman will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home.
