Obituary of Sara Gordon Collins

Sara Gordon Collins, 78, of Lugoff, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021. Born in Cassatt on May 19, 1943, she was the daughter of the late D. E. and Juanita Teal Gordon, and the wife of the late Curtis Harvey Collins. Sara was a longtime member of Lugoff First Baptist church, where she was involved in the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She participated in many senior trips and activities. She enjoyed traveling and gardening, but her greatest loves were God, her family, and her church.

She is survived by her daughters, Angela Ogburn (Barry) of Lugoff, and Sandra Watson (Vincent) of Camden; siblings, Doby Gordon, III (Suzanne), Gene Gordon (Shirley), and Charlotte Morris (Buster); grandchildren, Austin Watson (Heather), Lauren Ashley (Colton), Lindsay Ogburn, Emily Watson, Leah Ogburn, Aaron Watson, and James Watson; a great-grandchild, Madelyn Ashley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, Sara was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Gordon Griggs.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00pm on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Lugoff First Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Doug Huntsinger. The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to the service, beginning at 4:00pm. Burial will follow in Lugoff First Baptist Church Cemetery.
