Obituary of Myrtle R. Branham

LUGOFF – Funeral service for Myrtle R. Branham, 84, will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lugoff First Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Stephen Jordan will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Autism Society, Federation of the Blind or Rowan Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Branham, wife of the late J.D. Branham, died Sunday, January 5, 2014. Born in Lugoff, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Nellie Barfield Rabon. She retired from the Kershaw County School District as a cafeteria manager for Lugoff-Elgin Middle School. She was a member of Rowan Presbyterian Church and enjoyed cooking, sewing and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her son, Byron Branham (Sue) of Lugoff; daughters, Lavada McIntyre of Lugoff and Rhonda McColman of Lugoff; brothers, Roland Rabon, Howard Rabon and Carl Rabon; sisters, Earline Carter and Mary Nell Branham; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Boyce; and one great-grandson.
