Obituary of Leon H Brevard, Sr.

Leon H. Brevard, son of the late James and Sallie Carlos Brevard, was born May 19, 1949, in Camden, SC. He transitioned to Eternity on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at KershawHealth in Camden.

Leon was educated in the public schools of Kershaw County and graduated from Jackson High School in 1970. He was a hard and dedicated worker at Hardwicke Chemical Company until his health declined.

Leon accepted Christ at an early age and united with Trinity United Methodist Church of Camden. He enjoyed watching television, spending time with his children and grandchildren, shopping, and traveling.

In addition to his parents, Leon was predeceased by his brothers, Michael J. Brevard and James Brevard, Jr.; and sisters, Carolyn B. Moody, Josephine Jackson, Sallie Clark, and Helen B. Lightford.

Those left to cherish his fond memories and celebrate his homegoing are his wife, Mary Brevard of Lugoff; children, Leon H. Brevard, Jr. of Corpus Christi, TX, Tomekia Brevard of Bel Air, MD, and Michael Brevard (Stacy) of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Keara, Terrence, Jeremiah, Jasmine, Nathan, and Brooke; his brother, Marion (Mable) Brevard of Camden; sisters, Patricia Mitchell of Elgin, Doris. B. Wilson of Camden, and Margaret Mills (Robert) of Columbia; a close and dear cousin Kenneth Alexander; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Burial will follow in Cedar Cemetery, Camden.
