Obituary of Monay Johnson Hammonds

COLUMBIA- Monay Johnson Hammonds, 55, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021. Born in Manhattan, NY on December 2, 1965, she was the daughter of the late Robert Johnson and Priscilla Reed Mack. Monay enjoyed cooking family dinners and playing online bingo.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her life partner, Charles Stripling; children, Jarvis Johnson (Stephanie), Melanie Johnson, and Ebony Brigman (Russell); fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Bubba.

In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a son, Reginald Johnson; her husband, Frankie Hammonds; and sister, Rosalind Harper.

The family will receive friends from 11-5pm on Thursday, February 25^th at Powers Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11am on Friday, February 26^th at Pine Forest Memorial Cemetery, 11^th Street, McBee, SC 29101.
