Obituary of Kimberly Jackson McKay

ELGIN – A service to celebrate the life of Kimberly Jackson McKay, 49, will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. in Mizpah Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Powers Funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Theil-Meyers Pet Adoption Center.

     Ms. McKay passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021.  Born in Camden, she was the daughter of Vivian Parker Jackson and the late John Robert Jackson, Sr.  She was a law enforcement officer for the City of Columbia Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Department, and retired from the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department.

    Ms. McKay enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club.  She also enjoyed horses and loved spending time with her family.

    Surviving are her son, Quade McKay of Lugoff; mother, Vivian Jackson of Elgin; brother, John Robert Jackson Jr. (Dorothy) of Cassatt; and nieces and nephews, PO3 Robert Daniel Garner USN, John Kaleb Jackson, Erin Briana Jackson, PVT Robert Bryce Baker USMC, Jenna Sulzer and Abby Sulzer.
