Obituary of Viola H. Cole
LUGOFF – Funeral service for Viola Hunter Cole, 94, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Malvern Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Joe Stines and the Rev. Buster Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to El-Bethel Faith Community Church or Malvern Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cole, wife of the late Ernest Wilson Cole, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 24, 2013. Born in Kershaw, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Carrie Knight Hunter. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening
Mrs. Cole was the oldest living member of Malvern Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughters, Gwendolyn C. Stines (Rev. Joe Stines) of Lugoff, Delores C. Wilson (Bob) of Cleveland, Ohio, and Deborah C. Dunlap (Jim) of Hockessin, Del.; brother, Charles Hunter; sisters, Dorothy Baker and Sarah Hunter; grandchildren, Tony Stines (Michelle), Chris Adams (Deborah), Carrie Hubard (John), Melissa Adams, Elaine Specce (Chris), Anne Dunlap, and Wilson Dunlap; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Paul Hunter, Carl Hunter, and Joe Hunter; and sisters, Ella Williams, Lillie Ogburn, Phyllis Cook and Baby Carrie Elizabeth Hunter.
