Obituary of James Mike Payne

WESTVILLE – A memorial service for James Michael “Mike” Payne, 64, will be held Saturday at 1:00 at House of Prayer with Open Arms Church.

    Mr. Payne passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021. Born in Mount Airy, N.C., he was a son of the late James Teddy and Irene Ruth Payne. Mr. Payne served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed carpentry work and building furniture and cabinets.

    Surviving are his sister, Patricia Canup of Lancaster; 3 nieces; 1 nephew; 3 great nephews; and 1 great niece. He was predeceased by his parents, and siblings, Warren Dale Payne and Juanita Gail Watts.
