Obituary of Dale H. Kirkland

LUGOFF – Graveside service for Dale Kirkland, 72, will be held on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.  A public viewing will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church Build Fund or a charity of one’s choice.

    Mr. Kirkland passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020.  Born in Camden, he was the son of the late William Duncan Kirkland, II and Dorothy Hughes Kirkland.  He served in the United States Navy in the Vietnam War and retired from DuPont.  He also worked for Roy’s Wood Products for 11 years.

    Mr. Kirkland was a dedicated member of Concord Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and had a passion for working in the Food Pantry.  He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

    Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Connie Stokes Kirkland; sons, Hugh Kirkland of Lugoff and Chad Kirkland (Stephanie) of Little Mountain; brother, W.D. Kirkland (Ruth) of Lugoff; sister, Cordelia K. Swaford (Jerry) of Lugoff; and grandchildren, Anabelle L. Kirkland, Charlotte E. Kirkland and Olivia D. Kirkland.
