ELGIN – A service to celebrate the life of Gary Richard “Junior” Horne, Jr., 49, will be held on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Junior passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020. Born in Roanoke, Va., he was the son of Gary Richard Horne, Sr. and Adelheid Nieberle Harvey. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and was a member of Sawney’s Creek Hunting Club. Surviving are his wife, Rosie Brewer; son, Justin Horne of the home; father, Gary Horne (Sylvia) of Ridgeway; mother, Addy Harvey (Michael) of Elgin; sisters, Suzanne Horne Smith and Kelly Horne Hall; nephew, Jordy Ray Smith; nieces, Hope Lauren Hall, Erica Kalie Wood and Cameron Alexis Wood; and best friends, Adam Murphy, Wally Branham, Jimmy Post and Brett Branham. He was predeceased by son, Gary Richard Horne, III; brother-in-law, Ray Smith; and nieces, Victoria Rose Smith and Kendall Eve Smith.
