COLUMBIA - A graveside service for Eleanor Ruth Farmer, 92, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2020 in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Mrs. Farmer passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Born on August 24, 1928, in Harstville, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Joseph Hopkins and Laurine Shoemake Hopkins. Surviving are her children, Janice Warren Culpepper (Dan), Jimmy Farmer, Jr. (Beverly), and Deneese “Cookie” Davis (C.D.); sisters, Florence Sharpley and Julia Douglas (Doug); brother, Joseph McElvin Hopkins (Sandra); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Jimmy M. Farmer; son, Johnny Ervin Dixon; daughter, Addie Gaile Newman; and grandson, Anthony Newman.
