ELGIN – Services for Harold Deaver West, 69, will be private. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association. Mr. West, husband of the late Joyce Elaine Ray West, passed away at home on Sunday, October 11, 2020. Born in Franklin, N.C., he was the son of the late Herbert Lee West and Ollie Mae Haskell West. He retired from the United States Army having served in Desert Storm. He was an active supporter and participant in Relay For Life and enjoyed restoring cars. Surviving are his son, Timothy Shane West (Janett Ruth) of Duncan, Okla.; step-daughters, Cynthia Morris of Elgin and Tonya Ogletree (Charles) of Hazlehurst, Ga.; brother, Lee H. West (Wanda); sister, Eva Mae Dula; 6 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings, Charles “Charlie” West Jr., Carl Ellis West, Mary Elizabeth Sumter, Johnnie Lee West, Paul West and Roger West.
