CAMDEN – Funeral service for Benjamin Ashley Lewis Grantham, 40, will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Ashley passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013. Born in Camden, he was the son of Belinda Simon Hayes and the late Charles H. Hayes. He was a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed motor cycle riding, golf and softball. Surviving are his fiancée, Amy Rhodus Stockman; mother, Belinda S. Hayes of Bishopville; children, Kaitlin Grantham, Alissa Grantham, Cade Grantham, Lake Grantham and Bailee Smith; step-children, Allan Hornsby and Hannah Stockman; brothers, Joe Grantham (Donna) of Bishopville, Scottie Hayes (Lanette) of Fort Mill, Terry Hayes of Bishopville, and David Hayes (Denise) of Camden; sister, Melinda McCaa (Michael) of Bethune; and grandfather, Bill Simon. He was predeceased by daughters, Carma Grantham and Maggie Grantham; and grandmother, Barbara Simon. The family extends a special thank you to Abbey Road Hospice and his nurse, Beverly Cassady for their loving care.
