Obituary of Edith Brown Davis

Edith Brown Davis, 73, entered into eternal life on Saturday, September 19, 2020 in Sanford, North Carolina. Edith was born in Sumter, South Carolina. She was the youngest daughter of the late Wearing and Maggie Davis Brown. She was educated in the Kershaw County School System. Edith worked for many years as a Nurse’s Aide. Her hobbies included cooking and listening to R & B music. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wearing and Maggie Davis Brown; siblings, Rebecca Grant, Camila Fowler, Ida Carter, Boston Brown, Wardell Brown, Arthur Deas and Wearing Brown, Jr. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, Two loving sons: Jeffrey Brown, Sr. of Amite, Louisiana and Michael Brown of Sanford, North Carolina; One brother, Johnny L. (Josephine) Brown of Newport, Rhode Island; Three sisters: Eartha Wiggins of Boykin, South Carolina, Bertha German of Jamaica, New York and Lizzie Ricks of Buffalo, New York; Five grandchildren: Jeffery L. Brown, Jr., Sherry L. Brown, Alicia Escobar, Reginald McArthur and Michael Brown; Two great-grandchildren: Adalind Brown and Autumn Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, with burial to follow in St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
