CAMDEN – Funeral service for Sallie B. Snider, 87, will be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Snider passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020. Born on June 13, 1933, Sallie Anne Pierce was a daughter of the late Corbett Thomas and Rosa Thelma Pierce. Sallie lived in Wallace, N.C. until 1950 when she moved to Charlotte, N.C. where she graduated from Harry P. Harding High School in 1951. Sallie married her first husband, Dwight L. Butler in 1953 in Charlotte, N.C. They had three children, Dwight L. Butler, II, Gary Pierce Butler, and Sheryl Anne Butler. In late 1960, she married Frederick J. Snider, who died in 2003 at Carl Vinson Veterans Hospital in Dublin, Georgia. Surviving are her granddaughters, Missie Marie Butler and Jessica Leigh Skinner; great-grandchildren, Rosa Marie Ogden, Robyn Butler, Starr Skinner, Skye Skinner, and Rayne Skinner. She was predeceased by her children, parents and brothers, Robert C. Pierce, John Andrew Pierce, and Gene Pierce; and sisters, Thelma P. Brunson and Hazel P. Taylor.
