ELGIN- A funeral service for Kaye Brassell Cannon, 56, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sistercare, Inc., P.O. Box 1029, Columbia, SC 29202. Kaye passed away at home surrounded by family, Monday, August 24, 2020. Born in Moncks Corner, she was a daughter of Betty Lee Morris Brassell and the late Leroy Brassell. Her passions in life were teaching children and praising the Lord. Kaye was an avid reader. She enjoyed reading cookbooks front to back and then cooking the recipes. She also enjoyed gardening. Surviving are her daughters, Lauren Lawing (Jason) of Lugoff, Sharon Patton (John) of Newberry, Tiffany Kicklighter (Thad) of Honea Path; mother, Betty Lee Brassell; sisters, Faye Harmon (Van), Renee Locklear (Michael); brother, Marty Brassell (Sandi); grandchildren, Parker Dorman, Hannah Lee Patton, Betty Jean Patton, and Michael Kicklighter; and beloved friends that became family, Amanda Lanier (Robbie), Kim Eaker, Cassidy Eaker, Kelley Nance (Chris), Rená Dameron, Tressa Dameron, and DéLana R.A. Dameron (Curtis).
