Obituary of Donnie Joyner
CAMDEN- Funeral services for Donnie Patrick Joyner, 70, will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God, Camden, with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. The Rev. Bruce Marthers will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideons International.
Mr. Joyner passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013. Born in Olar, he was a son of the late Patrick Henry and Helen Black Joyner. Mr. Joyner was a member of First Assembly of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He worked many years as an ironworker with Wilhoit Steel Erectors, and retired as a boilermaker with the Boilermakers Union Local 687.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Deloris Dickey Joyner; sons, Donald “Donnie” Joyner (Judy) of Anderson, Daniel “Dan” Joyner of Camden, Christopher “David” Joyner of Camden; daughters, Sheri Denise Miles (Steve) of Camden, Debbie Anderson of Camden; grandchildren, Cody James, Blake Miles, Connor Miles, and Justin Miles; brothers, Elliott Joyner (Rose), Earl Joyner (Nayivis); sisters, Mae Jo Gillespie (Jimmy), and Judy Walters (Glen).
