CAMDEN – Graveside service for J. C. Nelson, Jr., 90, will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4-6 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to DeKalb Baptist Church. Mr. Nelson, husband of the late Margaret Catoe Nelson, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2019. Born in Elgin, S.C. on July 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Jesse Nelson and Ruth Price Nelson. He retired from Springs Industries after 35 years of service. Mr. Nelson was a member and former deacon of DeKalb Baptist Church having served as trustee and on the building committee. He was a member of Flat Rock Lodge #378. Surviving is his son, Ronnie A. Nelson (Vicki) of Camden; and grandson, Russell A. Nelson (Rhonda). He was predeceased by his sisters, Juanita Branham, Mary Miles and Lula McKay.
