Steve and I joined the Air Guard about the same time. We were both "widebanders," and we were occasionally mistaken for each other thanks to having that same first name (and the same last initial!) His training and background was similar to mine, although, I believe he had the Army in his background where I was strictly Air Force (not counting about 2 years in the Army's ROTC training at Ga. Tech.) One thing I never could do quite as well as Steve was tune our transmitters. I would do my darndest and Steve would come along behind me and get a few more watts out of the darn things! Good man, all around. Will miss you, bud. Hope we both end up in the same place--we'll see in a few more years, in any case! And thanks for being the very good friend you always were.
