Sallie and family, I am totally shocked seeing Steve’s obituary!!! I would see Steve at Walmart and we would always catch up on everyday life. He always asked about David and when it was SAFE NO COVID19 David would be in the car. Steve would always go out and visit with David. It always warmed my heart to see Steve. He LOVED his family and friends. Steve will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. Steve and I joined the Air Guard about the same time. We were both "widebanders," and we were occasionally mistaken for each other thanks to having that same first name (and the same last initial!) His training and background was similar to mine, although, I believe he had the Army in his background where I was strictly Air Force (not counting about 2 years in the Army's ROTC training at Ga. Tech.) One thing I never could do quite as well as Steve was tune our transmitters. I would do my darndest and Steve would come along behind me and get a few more watts out of the darn things! Good man, all around. Will miss you, bud. Hope we both end up in the same place--we'll see in a few more years, in any case! And thanks for being the very good friend you always were. Stephen V.
