ELGIN – Funeral service for Carl Early Brazell, 60, will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Spears Creek Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Greg Sweet will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spears Creek Baptist Church, 116 Spears Creek Church Lane, Elgin, S.C. 29045. Mr. Brazell passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late David Ray and Nellie Wallace Brazell. He was the former owner of Carl Brazell Builders. He enjoyed golf, gardening and antique cars. Mr. Brazell was an active member of Spears Creek Baptist Church where he was former Deacon, Youth Leader and served on the Building Committee. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Kathy Darlene Lee Brazell; daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Scottie Todd of Elgin, and Stacey and David Williams of Elgin; son and daughter-in-law, Carl “Rabbit” and Shannon Brazell of Elgin; brothers, Ronald Brazell (Vicki), Levi Brazell (Donna), Cecil Brazell (Jackie), and Rev. Kenneth Brazell (Linda); sisters, Nancy Brazell and Joyce Brazell; sister-in-law, Gail Brazell; and grandchildren, Carley Todd, Brandon Todd, Hunter Brazell, Jessica Brazell, Emma Williams, Mason Williams, and Brianne Williams. He was predeceased by brothers, Jerry Brazell and Mickey Brazell; and sister, Ann Brazell. The family extends a special thank you to South Carolina Oncology Associates for all their dedication and compassion given to Mr. Brazell.
