Obituary of Francis Mooneyhan

LUGOFF – Funeral service for Francis Bannon Mooneyhan, Jr., 82, will be held Wednesday at 2:00 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Chestnut Ferry Road, Camden, SC. A private burial will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Bishop Arthur Turbyfill will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 26 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Latter Day Saints Missionary Fund or Humanitarian Fund. Mr. Mooneyhan passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013. Born in Hartsville, S.C., he was the son of the late Francis Bannon Mooneyhan and Angie Lee Shoemate Mooneyhan. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and retired from United States Air National Guard. He received his Bachelors Degree from Limestone College. He retired from DuPont and taught at ATEC and Central Carolina College. Mr. Mooneyhan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 17. He was the scoutmaster for Troop 348 for more than 20 years. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Mary Kathleen “Kitty” Watson Mooneyhan; sons, Frankie Mooneyhan (Frances), Garry Mooneyhan (Ether), Robin Mooneyhan (Shawna), and Jeffrey Mooneyhan (Clare); daughter, Lisa Radvansky (Bobby), Jodi Melton (Kelly), and Elizabeth Bliss (Michael); brothers, Mickey Mooneyhan (Sammie), Charles Mooneyhan (Janet), and Billy Mooneyham (Carolyn); sisters, Peggy Graham (Gene), and Linda Johnson (Wayne); 24 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Glenn Mooneyhan; sisters, Nellie Louise Mooneyhan, Sara Gandy and Ann Register; grandsons Denis Mooneyhan and Chad Radvansky.
