CASSATT – A memorial service for Elsie Meryle Stropes, 86, will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation. Mrs. Stropes, wife of the late Willis Riggs “Bill” Stropes, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020. Born in Cooperstown, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Leo and Edith North Webster. She enjoyed reading. Surviving are her son, Kirk W. Stropes (Beverly) of Cassatt; grandchildren, Kyle Matthew Stropes (Katy) and Jeremy Michael Stropes, all of Lugoff; great-granddaughter, Ensley Marie Stropes of Lugoff; and brothers, Ronald Webster (Catherine) of Maryland, N.Y. and Richard Webster of Morris, N.Y.
