ELGIN – A memorial service for Hortense Fuglaar Fowler, 84, will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Fowler passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. Born in Tioga, LA., she was the daughter of the late Ollie Fuglaar and Hortense Guillot Goad. She enjoyed singing, sewing, hiking, boating, and being outdoors. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Malcolm Elliott Fowler; sons, Marcus Fowler (Lisa) and Craig Fowler; and grandchildren, Amber Larson, Katie Monzel, Jonathan Marcus Fowler, Angela Fowler, Dakota Fowler, and Erica Fowler. She was predeceased by siblings, Ollie, Helen Arthur, Rudolph, Russell, Bina Birchfield, and Dewey.
