LUGOFF – Funeral service for Reece Quinton Bowers, 93, will be held Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Beaver Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The Rev. David Robinson will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 647 Lachicotte Road, Lugoff, S.C. 29078. Mr. Bowers, husband of the late Tyna Catoe Bowers, died Thursday, November 1, 2012. Born in Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Ernest Baxter and Wilma Hilton Bowers. He retired from civil service at Fort Jackson and the Kershaw County School District Maintenance Department. He was a member of Lugoff First Baptist Church and enjoyed dancing. Surviving are his daughter, Gayle B. White of Lugoff; sons, G. Wayne Bowers (Jan) of Hanahan and Randy D. Bowers (Mandy) of Lugoff; daughter-in-law, Ann S. Bowers; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Reece Bowers Jr., Jerry O. Bowers and Bobby Glenn “Dickie” Bowers; a grandson, Jeffrey M. White; brothers, Jim Bowers and Melvin Bowers; sisters, Ernestine Hagler, Lucille Hagler, Effie Mahaffey, Rosie Bowers, and Mary Esther Russell; and his second wife, Clarice Bowers;
