CAMDEN – A private service for Frank Ashby Tidwell, Jr., 69, will be held at a later date. Mr. Tidwell passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Born in Camden, S.C., he was the son of the late Frank Ashby Tidwell, Sr. and Emmer Nichols Tidwell. Frank enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. He was always writing poetry and working with his hands to fix and build things. He loved spending time with his grandsons and taking road trips to the mountains and the Farmers Market with his wife. Frank had a strong Christian faith and was a skilled debater. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Jean Hardin Tidwell; children, Michael Leonard Tidwell, Danielle Tidwell Bailey (Don) and Amy Tidwell Ray (Timmy); grandchildren, William Ashby Tidwell, Michael Gabriel Self, Benjiman Tate Self, Grayson Robert Bailey, Nicholas Chayton Bailey and Donald Ray “Raiden” Bailey, Jr.; sister, Emma Wilson; and brother, Rembert Joseph Tidwell (Joan). He was predeceased by his siblings, Vermell Tidwell, Frank B. Tidwell, Sr., Marion Tidwell Wilson, Allen P. Tidwell, and Dorothy Tidwell Kelley.
