Brenda,
I'm so sorry for your loss, but rejoice in Heaven's gain. Horace was a true friend to me and my family, he will be dearly missed. He was passionate about everything he did, his family, Church, work, hobbies, and sports. He was always willing to help me, we had so many great conversations about rock hunting, bird hunting and just life in general. You could always count on Horace. We were big NASCAR fans, followed each race, and pulled for the same driver. He really did enjoy his work with researching the Confederate Soldiers grave sites in Kershaw Co. and he dearly loved history. He never met a stranger, was kind to everybody he met, even in his second career at the trash collection site. He really did enjoy interacting with all those folks, I know that he will be sorely missed there as well. He was a humble man, but a very proud person. He loved to hear a good joke and talk politics until it got his blood pressure up. Someone once said if during your lifetime you have at least five true friends you are a very blessed individual. We all have just lost one, he will be missed but not forgotten. I'm praying for your entire family during this time, I know first hand how difficult it is. God is there for you, I truly believe in His promises to us. Always remember this, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." Psalm 116:15
