John followed his work at Mack Trucks to Winnsboro in 1987. He was a great mechanic and helped the UAW organize our facility. Like many who transferred from PA, we left family members behind. However we became a family here in SC, celebrating many Holidays and occasions together. He had great knowledge of antique JD tractors and we attended many shows together displaying some of his rarest ones. You could tell he and Doris were raised on farms in PA, they grew some of the best produce we ever tasted, and they always would share their bounty. We would help each other no matter what the problem was and we always enjoyed each other’s company and looked forward to sitting down to a home cooked meal. We will miss you “Brother John” but I’ll never forget the great times we shared in our 32 year journey together here in South Carolina. As i always said in PA Dutch-“Don’t work to hard”!
