Obituary of Alma Truesdale Bowen

CAMDEN – A funeral service for Alma Truesdale Bowen, 83, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.

    Mrs. Bowen passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019.  Born in Dalzell, she was the daughter of the late Sidney J. and Pearl Cook Truesdale.  She enjoyed history, baseball and spending time with her grandchildren.

    Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Calvin T. Bowen Sr.; sons, Calvin T. Bowen, Jr. and his wife Hiroko and Ronnie Bowen and his wife Fonda; sisters, Melba Blair and Thelma Sellers; brother, John Truesdale; and 8 grandchildren.  She was predeceased by brothers, Sidney Truesdale Jr., Bobby Truesdale and George Truesdale.
