Obituary of Kathleen C. Sloan

ELGIN – Funeral service for Kathleen Carnell Sloan, 91, will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The Rev. Tim McIver will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 4-6 p.m.  at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. 

    Mrs. Sloan, wife of the late Bruce Leroy Sloan, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019.  Born in Richland County, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Viola Medlin Douglas.  She was a member of Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Adult Sunday School Class.

    Surviving are her son, Barry Eugene Sloan (Sharon) of Elgin; daughter-in-law, Barbara Sloan of Elgin; sister, Ruby Alwine Hill of Columbia; brother, Ervin Douglas of Elgin; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandsons; and 1 great-granddaughter.  She was predeceased by sons, Bruce Leroy Sloan Jr. and Donald W. Sloan; and brother, Tommy Douglas.
