Obituary of Elijah Peebles

CAMDEN – A funeral service for Elijah Peebles, 65, will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Gum Springs Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

    Mr. Peebles passed Tuesday, July 16, 2019.  Born in Lee County, he was the son of the late J.C. and Dorothy Bell Lane Peebles.  Mr. Peebles enjoyed yardwork and gardening.

    Surviving are his children, Stephanie Peebles, Robert Peebles, Gerald Peebles (Bethany), Tonya Peebles and Anthony Peebles; brothers, Jacob Peebles (Johnnie Mae), Leroy Peebles, Jerry Peebles, John Peebles; a sister, Elizabeth Roary; and 13 grandchildren.  He was predeceased by siblings, Lucius Peebles, R.D. Peebles, James Calvin Peebles, Esau Peebles and Willie Joe Peebles.
