Obituary of Nannie Louise Ray

KERSHAW – A funeral service for Nannie Louise Ray, 71, will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with burial to follow in Ray Family Cemetery. The Rev. Gene Stokes will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or United Breast Cancer Foundation.

    Mrs. Ray, wife of the late Eugene B. Ray, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of Wilbert Lewis and Lula B. Anderson. Mrs. Ray enjoyed gardening, fishing, yard sales, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her family and the Lord.

    Surviving are her son, Eugene “Gene” Ray, Jr. (Valerie) of Camden; siblings, Harold Anderson, Carl Anderson (Virginia), Margie Ray (Clennie), Carol Baker (Roddy); sister-in-law, Betty Bowers (Joe); grandchildren, Ashton and Gene Ray; several nieces and nephews; and her mother-in-law, Carrie Pate. She was predeceased by siblings, Sybil Smith, Farrell Anderson, Leevan Anderson, Mary Brown, John Billy Anderson and David Anderson.
