Obituary of Johnnie L. Burriss, Sr.

LUGOFF– A funeral service for Johnnie Lawrence Burriss, Sr., 77, will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Derrick Proctor will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.

    Mr. Burriss passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019. Born in Iva, he was a son of the late James and Reba O. Burriss. Mr. Burriss served in the U.S. Army and worked for SCE&G and KershawHealth. He enjoyed farming, tractors and spending time with his family.

    Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Brenda Crolley Burriss; son, Johnnie Burriss, Jr. (Wendy) of Lugoff; granddaughters, Katherine and Samantha Burriss; and siblings, Jane Burriss, Gary Burriss (Nancy) and Carey Burriss (Janice). He was predeceased by siblings, James Burriss, Gayle Ramos and Dwayne Burriss.
